"
Turn the music up in your car or home stereo to a pretty strong (but good) volume. Ask a friend to join you. At one point, when they're in the flow, cut the sound completely. Kill the power. Notice their response. Now do it again, but this time fade the volume.

This is not a trivial thing.

Removing a git submodule

Unfortunately, man git-submodule (at least version 1.6.0.4) says nothing about removing a module, so you'll have to do it manually:

Remove module from .gitmodules and .git/config

git rm path/to/submodule

Commit

Ryan's Scraps: What's New in Edge Rails: Gem Dependencies

Basically, you can now specify your gem dependencies in environment.rb with something like:

Rails::Initializer.run do |config|
# Require the latest version of haml
config.gem "haml"
end
